De Montfort University Dubai is seeking a qualified and experienced academic to join the Faculty of Business and Law as a Lecturer in Law. This full-time academic role is ideal for candidates passionate about high-quality teaching, curriculum development, research, and student engagement within a UK higher education framework.
As a Lecturer in Law, you will support the growth of DMU Dubai’s law programmes through teaching and leadership across core areas such as Company Law, Contract Law, Equity and Trusts, Professional Practice, and Policing. You will also contribute to programme development, module leadership, and external engagement to maintain the highest standards of legal education.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Law.
  • Lead and develop modules, ensuring they remain innovative, student-focused, and aligned with the latest research and scholarship.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, quality assurance, and academic administration within the Faculty.
  • Support and mentor students through academic advising, supervision, and induction activities.
  • Engage in external networking with professional bodies, local businesses, and the wider academic community (e.g., through external examining, field trips, and student competitions).
  • Participate actively in student recruitment, enrolment, open days, and other faculty events.
  • Uphold DMU’s values by fostering inclusive, student-centered learning environments and adhering to health and safety protocols.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
  • Good undergraduate degree in Law from a UK university or a non-Law degree with CPE/GDL – Required.
  • Postgraduate degree in Law (LLM or MA) and/or qualification as a Barrister or Solicitor – Preferred
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, HEA Fellowship) – Preferred.
  • All qualifications must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) or be eligible for attestation.
Experience
  • Minimum 1–3 years of full-time teaching experience in higher education within the UK system – Required.
  • Proven experience in lecturing and assessing modules in Law – Required.
  • Expertise in Company Law, Contract Law, and Equity & Trusts – Required.
  • Experience in managing module materials and contributing to programme development – Required.
  • Experience in external engagement (e.g., with professional bodies or local legal communities) – Desirable.
