De Montfort University Dubai is seeking academically qualified and experienced individuals to join the Faculty of Business and Law as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Operations & Supply Chain Management. This role is ideal for professionals committed to delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting students’ academic and professional development.
You will be responsible for delivering subject content across business management programmes, with an emphasis on real-world application, global trends, and cross-disciplinary integration. As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, you will engage in academic leadership, research or scholarly activity, and strategic collaboration with industry and institutional partners.
 
Key Responsibilities – For Both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer
  • Deliver lectures, workshops, and seminars across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • Teach core modules in areas such as:
  • Operations Management
  • Global Supply Chain Management
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Technology
  • Manufacturing Operations
  • Operations Research
  • Automation & Control
  • Transportation Systems
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Supply Chain Finance or Marketing
  • Develop course materials and assessment strategies aligned with programme outcomes.
  • Support student engagement and academic success through mentoring, advising, and dissertation/project supervision.
  • Contribute to curriculum innovation, programme enhancement, and academic quality assurance processes.
  • Build external relationships with industry partners and engage in community outreach or student recruitment.
  • Participate in the university’s governance, events, and public engagement initiatives.
 
Additional Responsibilities – Senior Lecturer
  • Lead the development of new modules and contribute to strategic programme design.
  • Coordinate modules and support junior teaching staff.
  • Establish a portfolio of research or consultancy projects with the potential for publication or income generation.
  • Take a leadership role in academic administration and faculty development activities.
 
Candidate Requirements
Lecturer – Required Criteria
  • A postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD/DBA) in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of teaching experience in higher education, preferably within a UK-aligned curriculum.
  • Subject expertise in at least four of the following areas:
  • Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Automation and Control, Manufacturing Operations, Global Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation Systems, or related fields.
  • Experience in delivering innovative teaching and assessment methods.
  • Ability to present information using varied methods suitable for diverse learning needs.
  • A strong commitment to student success, academic integrity, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Desirable: Experience contributing to curriculum development or scholarly activity.
Senior Lecturer – Required Criteria
  • A completed PhD or DBA in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field.
  • 5–6 years of higher education teaching experience or equivalent professional/industry background.
  • Strong knowledge and academic leadership in Operations and Supply Chain topics (see list above).
  • Evidence of curriculum design and module/programme development.
  • Demonstrated research or scholarly activity with a track record or strong pipeline for publication in international journals.
  • Experience contributing to consultancy, external funding, or professional networks.
  • Proven ability to mentor colleagues and lead academic teams.
  • Desirable: Experience teaching professional learners or executive education.
