De Montfort University Dubai is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Health & Wellbeing to join the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. This role is ideal for an academic or practitioner with subject expertise in areas such as health psychology, wellbeing, counselling, or therapeutic approaches, and a commitment to excellence in teaching, student support, and applied learning.
You will contribute to the delivery and enhancement of undergraduate and postgraduate modules and support research or professional development aligned with the faculty’s academic direction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and assess modules related to health psychology, wellbeing, counselling, and therapeutic interventions
  • Develop, adapt, and contextualise module content and learning materials for the Health & Wellbeing programme
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects
  • Provide academic mentoring and personalised student support
  • Engage in scholarly activity or professional development relevant to the discipline
  • Contribute to broader academic, outreach, and community-based initiatives
  • Participate in faculty meetings, quality assurance processes, and collaborative curriculum development

Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • A PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Health Psychology, Wellbeing, Counselling, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related discipline) (Essential)
  • The highest academic qualification must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) or be eligible for attestation upon offer of employment
  • Candidates must also ensure their qualifications are eligible for UAE Ministry of Education equivalency, or be willing to begin this process upon appointment
  • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (Desirable), or willingness to obtain it within a specified timeframe
Experience:
  • 2–5 years of experience in higher education or relevant academic/professional practice (Essential)
  • Proven or demonstrable potential to deliver high-quality teaching and academic support
  • Familiarity with the UK higher education system and understanding of the cultural context of the UAE (Essential)
  • Experience in module design, curriculum development, or blended/online learning platforms (Desirable)
  • An emerging or established research profile or applied practice record in the subject area (Desirable)
