De Montfort University Dubai is seeking talented and experienced individuals to join the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security. These full-time academic positions are ideal for individuals committed to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education in cyber security.
You will contribute to the design and delivery of an innovative cyber security curriculum that integrates hands-on lab experience with critical theoretical foundations. The roles support the continued growth of DMU Dubai’s computing programmes, reflecting both academic and industry priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
For Both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer:
- Deliver practical and theoretical modules in cyber security and other computing modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Teach key areas such as Linux Security, Penetration Testing, Malware Analysis, Windows Forensics, and Cryptography
- Design and conduct lab sessions using tools such as Kali Linux, FTK, John the Ripper, and other cyber security frameworks
- Supervise student research projects and support dissertation work
- Provide academic advising and career mentorship to students
- Support outreach, student recruitment, and open-day activities
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Additional for Senior Lecturer:
- Lead on module design, development, and curriculum enhancement
- Provide academic leadership and mentoring for junior colleagues
- Engage in research or scholarly activity, and contribute to publications, conferences, or industry collaborations
- Take responsibility for module leadership, quality assurance, and programme innovation
Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Cyber Security or a closely related field (Essential for both roles)
- A PhD in Cyber Security or related discipline (Essential for Senior Lecturer; Desirable for Lecturer)
- All academic qualifications must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) or eligible for attestation upon offer of employment
- Candidates must also ensure their qualifications are eligible for UAE Ministry of Education equivalency, or be willing to begin this process upon appointment
Experience:
- 0–2 years of teaching or relevant industry experience for Lecturer roles
- 2+ years of teaching and/or professional experience in cyber security for Senior Lecturer roles
- Experience with delivering applied lab-based sessions and academic assessments
- Familiarity with higher education systems (UK preferred), blended or digital teaching delivery
- A record of research or publications (Required for Senior Lecturer; Desirable for Lecturer)
- Experience in curriculum development and module leadership (Required for Senior Lecturer)
